(2) The Flood of Noah The Flood of Noah foreshadows the cross of Jesus Christ. Noah, his family of seven, and the animals entered Noah's ark. The flood symbolizes sin, death, and judgment. Isaiah 57:20 says, "But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which cannot rest; its waters cast up mire and dirt." Psalm 32:6 says, "Therefore let all the godly pray to you while you may be found. Surely, in the great flood, they will not reach him." Micah 7:19 says, "You will again have compassion on us; you will trample our iniquities underfoot and hurl all our sins into the depths of the sea." The flood is a curse from God. However, an ark stands on the water. The ark is shaped like a rectangular box.
